Intro to Machine Sewing: Tote Bag
In this two week course, we will demystify the machine and master sewing machine skills. Learn terminology and fundamental skills such as how to wind a bobbin, threading, and simple stitches. You’ll apply your skills in real time to create a simple tote bag to take home, but these skills can be applied to your projects at home too!
We do offer machines and required tools and a small selection of fabric to use, but our supplies are limited. Please see the student responsibility list for a detailed list of needed items and fabric measurements to bring if you have them. Adult Life Skills Sewing
Let us teach you the basics of how to sew on a button, sew up a seam or apply a patch! You’ll go home with a new skill set and useful items you’ve made yourself. Bring in an item that needs a button and an item that needs to be hemmed to work on during class if you’d like! Thursdays, Sept. 4 & 11 | 5:30 – 7:30 PM | $60 | Linda Thomas | Ages: 14+
Children’s Life Skills Sewing
Let us teach your children the basics of how to sew on a button, sew up a seam, or apply a patch! They will go home with their new skills and useful items they’ve made themselves! Mondays, September 8, 15 & 22 | 4 – 5:30 PM | $50 | Linda Thomas | Ages: 8 – 16
Beginning Quilting “Turning Twenty”
Join us for a six-week class for the beginning machine quilter! You will learn to make a full-size or larger quilt in a Turning Twenty pattern, stitch in the ditch, create and apply your binding, and more. You will learn all you need to know to make a quilt – from beginning to end! Take home a beautiful, completed quilt at the end of this class.
Students must be able to sew on a sewing machine. We will have machines available, but you are welcome to bring your own. Thursdays, Sept. 18, 25 & Oct. 2, 9, 16 & 23 | 6 Weeks | 5:30 – 8:30 pm | $125 | Instructed by Linda Thomas | Student responsible for some supplies. See below. | Ages: 16+
