Basics of Carving & Tooling
This class is the third in a series of leatherworking classes. The primary focus of this class will be basic carving and tooling techniques on Veg Tan leather using simple but common leather craft tools. In this class you will learn how to create simple patterns, transfer patterns onto leather, use a Swivel knife, use basic tools, and learn about the purposes of tooling leather as well as the different finishes used on projects Saturday, March 16 | 1 – 4 PM | $46 | James Trotter | Ages: 15+
Simple Project Construction
This class is the fourth in a series of leatherworking classes. The primary focus of this class will be learning the techniques necessary to construct a simple project. Students will learn how to create or acquire patterns, cut leather using different types of knives, thin the edges of leather, apply art, mark and punch stitching holes, what types of needles, thread, and stitching to use, and how to finish a project.
