Willow Oak Center for Arts & Learning is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit corporation that replies on the generosity of individuals, corporations, foundations and government grants to fund our programs.

We thank the individuals and organizations that have supported us in our mission to offer quality opportunities in the arts and humanities to children and adults in our community.

The Stokes & Sarah Brown Charitable Foundation

Willow Oak is grateful to the Stokes & Sarah Brown Charitable Foundation, which has helped to support us since our founding in 2007. We are particularly thankful to Stokes Brown’s daughter, Virginia Sory Brown, a classically trained, accomplished and professional musician who is a staunch supporter of Willow Oak and its mission — to offer the arts to the Robertson County area.

“Willow Oak did not exist when my father passed on (in July 2005),” Ms. Brown says. “But he wanted the foundation to support nonprofits in Robertson County and help as wide a demographic as he could. Willow Oak just exemplifies the thing he was talking about. He would be just thrilled to know a foundation he established was playing a part in helping Willow Oak be everything it could be.”

It is through Ms. Brown’s appreciation of the arts and her belief that the arts must be a part of a healthy community that the Brown Foundation has supported Willow Oak each year. And for that, we are grateful.

The Jacquelyn D. Guthrie Foundation

The Jacquelyn D. Guthrie Foundation has sponsored Willow Oak since 2009 with funds designated annually for rent.

Since 2009, the Tennessee Arts Commission has funded Willow Oak’s Multicultural Arts Festival, choral program, and a week of free classes.

More than 70% of the money used to fund the 800+ grants from the Tennessee Arts Commission last year was from the sale of specialty license plates.  Now you can buy a GIFT-A-TAG voucher for the purchase of any of Tennessee’s Specialty License Plates.  There are over 100 to choose from. Choose a Specialty License Plate that lets the world know what you care about. Tennessee Specialty Plates represent colleges and universities, sports, wildlife, arts, for children, and many others. Most of these plates are available at your local county clerk’s office.
