Knitting: “Put a Sock in it!” – Fall 2014

Middle School to Adults
Thursdays, September 18 – November 13 (8 weeks, no class Oct 16)
10:00 – 11:30 am
If you’ve ever wanted to learn to knit socks, here’s your chance!
Students will knot a simple pair of shortie socks.  Pattern will be provided.  This class is 8 weeks long to provide the instruction needed to complete 2 socks before Christmas.
** Students need to bring:  270 yards or (100 g) DK sport weight wool yarn, 1 set of size 3 (7”) double pointed knitting needles (5 to a set), and 2 ½ – 3 ” stitch holder.
Students must know how to cast-on, knit, purl, increase/decrease, and cast-off.  We will be “knitting in the round” and using the “long-tail” cast-on method.  If you’re not familiar with either of these methods, we recommend taking “Knitting in the Round” which is the prerequisite to this class.
Cost: $120  ~   Denise Rostan-Haley, Instructor
